The Role:
We’re looking for a Graphic designer/Production assistant to join our busy team.
As a fourth member of the team working across our portfolio of market-leading B2B and B2C publications within our Glasgow office, the successful candidate will be responsible for chasing and trafficking copy, designing adverts and editorial pages, proofing creative projects for client sign-off and preparing artwork for print.
Job requirements:
- Page layout and advert design. With a proven ability to design for print, you will have a strong Mac background and have working knowledge of Adobe In-Design, Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator. Accuracy, an instinct and passion for original and exciting design and the ability to prioritise and balance multiple projects is essential.
- Must have an excellent eye for design and typography and bring new ideas to our projects. Take design ownership of assigned projects and confidently deliver clear and impactful creative, in a timely manner.
- Support the team management in prioritising of tasks and planning of weekly workload. Working directly with the Design Manager and the Production Manager, you will be able to work independently as well as collaborate with a team.
- Work as the initial point of contact and ongoing liaison for advertisement creative, from copy chasing to design, to sign-off.
- The Production element of the role will be PC-based, so knowledge of Microsoft Office and Access is desirable. Being well-organised and methodical is essential here where updating database records and filing correspondence and creative files accurately is critical.
- Proofreading, a pinpoint attention to detail and exceptional organisational and communication skills are a must, as is the ability to multi-task and work to tight deadlines.
